Structures & Feelings @ Disjecta Contemporary Art Center
We have made a new project that indexes and aggregates all the portable objects in The Manifesto of the Communist Party. The objects have been arranged as they occur in the text, providing a sensible translation of the manifesto.
And, we have worked with our friend Jason Coyne on a text message spam project. We invited him to compose a series of messages that will slowly accrue over the course of the exhibition for viewers who opt-in to by texting the word 'spectre' to 313131. "The messages function as a sort of historico-political GPS, mobilizing poetic affect to facilitate this positioning within an implied political imaginary, conscious and otherwise."
Come be readers with us.
P.S. Our son Calder has 2 secret sculptures in the exhibition made from red wax cheese wrappers. See if you can spot them.

Disjecta announces the inaugural exhibition of Disjecta’s sixth Curator-in-Residence season with Michele Fiedler.
This is the first in a set of four exhibitions, that brings together works by Mexican artist Adriana Lara and Portland-based Anna Gray + Ryan Wilson Paulsen. The exhibition deals with elements of communicative behavior, specifically mechanisms behind the construction of thoughts and products which are dispersed through pop media, cultural forms, and technological platforms. This exhibition is part of the Season 6 Curator–In–Residence Program curated by Michele Fiedler.
