Imaginative Qualities of Actual Things

An installation about the period of time directly following a fire which destroyed our home in 2008 - a period we spent waiting in an anticipation of a move back into the rebuilt house. The perimeter of the gallery was studded with several burnt but salvaged objects, which are embedded directly into the walls. These objects trace a circle around a large wooden crate that is partially filled with moving boxes and animated by the subtle white lines of a projected poem.
